PUTRAJAYA: The Transport Ministry is to set up an international panel to look into outcomes and responsibilities dealing with the missing Malaysia Airlines Flight MH370, said its acting Minister Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Tun Hussein.
“I think on the point of responsibility, not only the Royal Malaysian Air Force (RMAF) is doing the inquiry, the (Transport) Ministry is coming up with an international panel, that is being formed at the moment,” he told reporters after meeting the next-of-kin of Flight MH370 passengers at The Everly Hotel here yesterday.
He also said the Malaysian government would look into the proposal to set up a Royal Commission of Inquiry (RCI) and Parliamentary Select Committee to investigate the Flight MH370 tragedy.
He believed that those nations that were involved in the search and rescue (SAR) operation of the ill-fated aircraft and international partners would
be keen to know what Malaysia had discovered from the incident.
“You have to understand, (we have) Boeing, Rolls Royce, the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB), the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), the Chinese agencies and the Air Accidents Investigation Branch (AAIB) from the United Kingdom.
“We practically have everybody in the aviation industry, involved in the SAR operation. This is the best time to re-look, not only the aviation landscape but security and defence as well,” Hishammuddin said. — Bernama
