PAPAR: A male corpse covered in blood with two slash wounds on the neck was found in a bush on the roadside at Kampung Lok Pond Kimanis here yesterday.
The victim, who was in his 20s, was fully clothed but has yet to be identified.
He was found by a fishmonger who was passing by the location.
Papar police chief DSP George Abd Rakman said the fishmonger immediately notified the police upon finding the body.
Based on the slash wounds and inspection at the scene, George said it was believed that the victim was murdered at another location before the body was disposed of at the Kampung Lok Pond Kimanis roadside.
“However, the identity of the victim is still unknown as there is no documentation with the body,” he said, adding that the body had been taken to Queen Elizabeth Hospital for further investigation.
George said the case would be investigated under Section 302 of the Penal Code.
