Being a relative newcomer to Miri, I am struck by the traffic chaos in the city. This is exacerbated during school days, where irresponsible parents just stop and park wherever they want often triple parking being the norm outside schools.
Where are the traffic police especially at these hot spots?
Due to the lack of policing a child could die outside one of these schools. This lack of control frustrated commuters trying to reach their work place.
There is a huge and impressive Trafik Polis building beside the highway on the way toward Luak, which looks like the home to a large Trafik Polis organisation? What does this organisation actually do, because as far as I can deduce they do not police the roads?
If you have rules for a society in place, but do not enforce them, then anarchy will ensue.
In the case of Miri the there is anarchy on the road everyday.
Take note Trafik Polis, get out from your plush office, and get on the roads where you will be most effective.
