Bonfire Team slams PKR’s ‘perplexing’ statement

KUCHING: SUPP Youth Central’s Bonfire Team has expressed its `shock and bewilderment’ that PKR Sarawak wanted Umno and its members to be banned from entering the state.

The Bon Fire Team said the state PKR statement, which was issued recently by its chairman and vice chairman, was `perplexing’.

“Firstly, the statement by the chief minister (Tan Sri Datuk Amar Adenan Satem) on the restriction in terms of immigration was intended for individuals that have a track record of causing disturbances in Sarawak from coming in. Never did he say that Umno members will be banned from Sarawak.

“Why would we stop our own BN friends from coming in? Our friends have never hurt us.”

The Bonfire Team emphasised that the federal government had been helping develop the state all these years.

“We would be crazy to chase away the very people we have worked with as very successful partners from outside of our allotted budget and entitlement.

“PR and PKR are playing a political game by confusing the issues so that they can score cheap political points.”

The Bon Fire Team had earlier told the DAP that “if Sarawak is to ban Umno, then the DAP, PKR and PAS will all be banned as well!”

“We have asked the DAP to no avail, and so we ask you now. Are you forming a Sarawak-based political party?”

The team reckoned that PKR Sarawak’s move to ‘promote’ a referendum for Sarawak through various means was a clear sign they were merely playing to the gallery.

“This may be an attempt to force an amicable ‘divorce’ from their political masters without losing their financing.”

The team said they failed to see how PKR, a peninsula-based party, would even consider to acquiescence the partition of Sarawak from the federation.

“We must also be aware that only the ruling government of the day can call for a referendum so all efforts by PKR Sarawak and their enablers are actually illegal and thus null and void in its validity and cannot be executed.”

“This proves that PKR Sarawak is not serious in helping Sarawakians.”

The team reiterated their support for Adenan’s stance that all racial bigots be denied entry to the state.

“We urge the state Immigration Department to be more vigilant on the list of personas non grata entering the state. Sarawak BN is made of Sarawak-based political parties. As such being the BN fixed deposit we now have the highest number of ministers and deputy ministers in the history of Malaysia.”

“Sarawakians are happy that we can continue the development agenda our way, and led by our people.”

The Bonfire Team said the DAP, PKR and PAS in Sarawak were clearly remotely controlled and bankrolled by their political masters in Selangor, Penang and Kelantan.

“Sarawakians will soon see through their disguise and it’s a matter of time till the people reject outright the political games being played by Pakatan Rakyat for the benefit of one person.”
