KUCHING: It was luck upon purchase for Tan Hoon Chia who bought drinks at Emart at Lee Ling commercial centreMatang when she was crowned the grand prize winner of the ‘Buy and Win with Emart’ contest.
After the draw result was announced at a prize presentation on Sunday, Tan returned home with a 43-inch LED TV and a home theatre set in the contest which was organised by drink supplier Permanis Sdn Bhd.
Meanwhile, the first prize went to Chin Pui San who won an Apple iPhone5, followed by the second prize of three Apple iPad which went to Ho Boon Eng, Jefri Fadillah and Tajuddin Sabehi.
The third prize in the form of a microwave oven went to Chang Peng Seng, Harith Iskandar and Syed Edrus Said Ismail.
Meanwhile, a Permanis spokesperson said the contest which was held for the first time received good response from members of the public.
Held from Nov 1 to Dec 31, 2013, the contest required participants to purchase a minimum of two bottles of either Pepsi, Revive Isotonic, Mountain Dew, 7Up, Mirinda, Excel8 and Lipton or two 1.5 litre Tropicana Twister before answering three simple questions on the drink itself.
Also present at the prize presentation yesterday was Emart assistant manager Simon Lee.
