SANDAKAN: A double-storey terrace house at Lorong 16, Taman Mawar here was razed by fire on Wednesday.
Sandakan Fire and Rescue Department chief Anddre Andrew said 13 personnel rushed to the scene in two fire engines and a utility vehicle after receiving a distress call at 6.25pm.
The fire was brought under control and prevented from spreading to ten adjoing housing units on the same block at 6.48pm and put out at 9.03pm.
Anddre said they did not face any problem in battling the fire as there was a water hydrant nearby.
The occupants of the house managed to escape unhurt.
