KUALA LUMPUR: Sarawak prevented high-riding Terengganu for helming the Super League with a 2-1 win over the East Coast giant at the Stadium Sultan Ismail Nasiruddin Shah, Kuala Terengganu on Friday.

Terengganu failed to capitalise on home ground advantage to dislodge League leader Pahang and had to be satisfied with their third placing in the table prior to the match.

However Sarawak latest foreign signing import Ryan Griffiths, former Australian striker, finally found his scoring touch in the 76th minute, which turned out to be the winning goal after team mate S Chanturu put the team ahead as early as in the second minute.

Terengganu had to thank Sarawak’s Junior Edstal for cancelling the lead in the 38th minute with his own goal.

After Friday’s match, Sarawak are seventh in the table with 16 points. — Bernama
