KUALA LUMPUR: The police yesterday identified the three men who drowned in a lake near the Batu Caves roundabout as R Raja Selvam, Mohd Nordin Mohd Nor and Mohd Fairuse Yusop.
Sentul Police chief ACP Zakaria Pagan said Raja Selvam, 38, was from Rawang, Mohd Nordin, 38, from Kuala Lipis and Mohd Fairuse, 30, from Limbang, Sarawak.
Zakaria dismissed the possibility that the drowning was related to a police anti-drug operation conducted last Saturday as reported in a newspaper.
He said no one had reported seeing the men drown after fleeing from the police operation.
Nevertheless, the police were investigation such a claim, he added.
The bodies of the three men were found floating in the lake on Sunday evening, he said, adding that there were no injuries on the bodies. — Bernama
