Long Sait to get suspension bridge soon

MARUDI: The government will prioritise the construction of a suspension bridge across the Selungoh River.

It will connect the Penan settlement of Long Sait with the settlement of Long Kerong.

“The implementation of the suspension bridge that will link Penans of Long Sait to the Penans of Long Kerong is a priority to be implemented very soon, sometime this year, and it will be done by a contractor,” Telang Usan assemblyman Dennis Ngau said during a visit to Long Sait on Tuesday.

He called on the villagers to give their support to the Barisan Nasional (BN).

“Do come back and reject the opposition you supported and voted for in the last election when BN lost at this polling station.

“Only the BN government can bring any development and is willing to provide the assistance and allocation to the Penans. The opposition just uses clever words to deceive the people, but cannot provide the necessary assistance,” he said.

Dennis later approved an RM5,000 grant for the Long Sait village security and development committee and another RM5,000 for the women’s bureau.
