KUCHING: A Form 2 student lodged a police report on Thursday after she was allegedly raped by a youth she had become acquainted with, barely a week ago.

The incident was said to have occurred around 4.30pm on Wednesday when the 19-year-old youth showed up at the girl’s house in Petra Jaya and brought her on his motorcycle to a nearby secondary jungle.

He then allegedly forced the 14-year-old to have sexual intercourse with him before sending her home and warning her not to tell anyone of the incident. The victim only revealed the matter to her counselling teacher in school the following afternoon when she experienced pain in her private part, prompting the teacher to notify the girl’s family.

District police chief ACP RoslanBek Ahmad, who confirmed receiving a report of the incident when contacted yesterday, said the victim became acquainted with the youth about a week earlier after a friend gave her his mobile phone number.

“We are currently tracking the whereabouts of the suspect, and are tracing the mobile phone number which was given to the girl,” he said, adding the victim has been sent to the Sarawak General Hospital to undergo a medical checkup.
