MIRI: A 40-year-old man managed to outwit a burglar during a robbery attempt at his house in Taman Tunku early yesterday morning.
The robbery took place around 5.30am where the burglar entered the house and pointed a knife at the man’s neck and demanded for cash and valuables.
Asking the man where he kept his cash and valuables, the man replied that they were kept in the kitchen.
Thinking the man was telling the truth, the burglar allowed him to go to the kitchen to get the items.
However, when the man entered the kitchen, he quickly grabbed a knife and attempted to fight off the burglar. This scared off the burglar who fled the scene.
The man subsequently lodged a police report at Miri Central Police Station the same day.
