Salesman fined RM2,000 for peeping at woman in public toilet

KUALA LUMPUR: A salesman was fined RM2,000 in default four months’ jail by the magistrates’ court here yesterday for peeping at a woman in a public toilet three days ago.

Magistrate Nurul’Ain Abdul Rahim passed the sentence after Syed Abu Bakar Sadiq Syed Salleh, 23, pleaded guilty to the charge under Section 509 of the Penal Code.

He committed the offence at the ladies’ toilet at Level 5, Pavilion shopping complex in Jalan Bukit Bintang here at 8.40pm on April 15.

In the same court, an unemployed man, SR Suresh, 35, was also fined RM2,000 in default four months’ jail after he pleaded guilty to causing hurt to his 36-year-old wife, B Parameswary, using a plastic electric kettle two days ago.

He committed the offence at No. 25-4 Apartment Gemilang, Jalan Klang Lama, here at 1 am on April 16.

Based on the facts of the case, the victim sustained head injuries after being beaten five to six times using the kettle.

Suresh was charged under Section 324 of the Penal Code which provides a maximum jail term of three years and fine. — Bernama
