The four-wheel-drive vehicle after it rammed into a streetlight pole on a road island just in front of City Mall shopping complex.
KOTA KINABALU: Eight vehicles were involved in a road accident after a four-wheel-drive vehicle rammed into a streetlight pole along Kolombong Road, just in front of City Mall shopping complex, here yesterday.
It was learnt that the 7.15pm incident happened when the four-wheel-drive vehicle, which was heading to Kolombong from Lintas, hit a streetlight pole on a road island as the driver tried to avoid hitting a Toyota Alphard that was making a u-turn back towards Kolombong.
The streetlight pole then fell onto the opposite lane, hitting another four-wheel-drive which was heading to Lintas from Kolombong, causing damage on the roof.
Five other vehicles, a Toyota Fortuner, Perodua Alza, Perodua Myvi, Perodua Viva and a Proton Saga which were tailing the four-wheel-drive vehicle respectively then rammed into the rear of the car in front in a pile-up.
No one was injured in the incident which caused a massive traffic jam on both lanes of the road.
