SIBU: A security guard suffered a fractured right leg after he was beaten up by four armed robbers yesterday.

He was riding his motorcycle to go to work when the four men, each riding a motorcycle, struck on Teng Chin Hua Road.

The 30-year-old man then sped off but was tail-gated by the robbers. He turned into a dark narrow path where he lost control of his bike and fell.

The four men, who caught up with him, then beat him up with iron bars and took away his RM400 in cash and a handphone before they threw his wallet and sling bag into a bush.

Subsequently, the injured man crawled out of the narrow path to a junction to seek help. A passer-by who spotted him lying on the ground at the junction came to his aid.

Policemen were summoned to the scene.
