Felcra ready to build training centre in Sabah

KINABATANGAN: The Federal Land Consolidation and Rehabilitation Authority (FELCRA) is planning to establish a training centre in Sabah through its investment arm, Felcra Trading And Consultancy (FTC).

Its chairman Datuk Bung Moktar Radin said the training center which was being proposed would be in Sandakan.

“This is part of FELCRA’s corporate social responsibility (CRS) to develop the rural sector by helping its community to participate in national economic activities, thus improving their standard of living,” he said at the Kinabatangan Education Carnival, organised by FELCRA Trading and Consultancy, here yesterday.

He said there were two training centers established – FELCRA Training and Recreation Centre in Tebing Tinggi in Johor and FELCRA Training Center in Seberang Perak.

“The centres are to assist rural students to be equipped with necessary knowledge and skills and improve their standard of living,” he said.

Bung Moktar, who is also Member of Parliament for Kinabatangan said he had also proposed the centre to identify potential secondary schools in Kinabatangan for school adoption programmes.

“Students in the adopted schools and who scored better result in SPM would be admitted to the training centre in Seberang Perak,” he said. — Bernama
