GEORGE TOWN: Tanjong Umno division Youth yesterday lodged a police report against Parti Keadilan Rakyat vice-president N. Surendran for allegedly making a statement questioning the judiciary’s credibility.

Ots vice-chief, Mohd Yusmadi Mohd Yusof said Surendran, who is also Padang Serai member of parliament, must be immediately investigated because his action ridiculed the decision of the Court of Appeal on opposition leader Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim’s sodomy case.

On April 19, a news portal (Malaysiakini) carried Surendran’s statement which regarded the Court of Appeal’s judgment on the contamination of evidence in Anwar’s second sodomy as in conflict with common sense.

“Surendran’s action as if ridiculed the Court of Appeal’s decision and instigated the people to be angry and to hate the country’s judicial system,” said Mohd Yusmadi, after making the police report at the Pantai station, here, with 10 members of the movement. — Bernama
