Policemen and members of the public gather at the scene following the disappearance of the three heavily-tattooed men.

KUCHING: A chain collision involving three cars at a traffic light intersection in Jalan Tun Razak here about 1.30pm yesterday saw three heavily-tattooed men abandoning the offending vehicle and fleeing on foot.

In the incident a white Proton Satria rear ended a Perodua Myvi, causing it to subsequently knock into a Proton Saga in front.

As the drivers of the latter two vehicles came out to inspect the damage, they were greeted by the sight of three heavily-tattooed men emerging from the Satria and fleeing the scene on foot.

Upon checking the Satria, the drivers were shocked to see machetes and bottles of wine on the back seat, prompting them to contact the police for assistance.

Police personnel arrived at the scene within minutes and upon checking, discovered that the vehicle had been reported stolen from a house in Kenyalang Park Sunday night.

A source said the three suspects were believed to have stolen the car prior to using it to commit other crimes such as housebreaking to avoid detection.
