MELBOURNE: Youth and Sports Minister Khairy Jamaluddin said he was delighted with the outstanding work the Malaysian company, SP Setia Bhd (SP Setia), has undertaken to become a prominent developer in Australia.

Khairy, who was here to address Malaysian students at their national convention, visited SP Setia’s luxury apartment development at Fulton Lane.

SP Setia’s Melbourne-based chief executive Choong Kai Wai briefed Khairy on the progress of the project.

Choong said the importance and completion of the company’s two projects – Fulton Lane and Parque Melbourne – would define its brand in Australia.

“The Fulton Lane project has driven the resurgence in the northern precinct of the central business district,” he said.

He said SP Setia has led the Melbourne market in its record sales of the units at its two developments at Fulton Lane, near the Queen Victoria market, and at The Parque in picturesque St Kilda Road where units were sold out in record time.

Malaysian Consul-General here, Dr Datuk Mohd Rameez, who accompanied Khairy, said he was pleased to see a Malaysian company come to Australia to compete and win.

Mohd Rameez said several Malaysian companies were investing in Melbourne, but SP Setia was easily the pacesetter and was definitely making a mark here. — Bernama
