PUTRAJAYA: Information is one of the three vital elements required to resolve security issues that changed with times, said Home Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi.

He said sufficient information was important because without it taking action would be difficult.

Secondly, high commitment to duty by police officers and men and thirdly, assets and equipment.

“The three elements are very important and depend on one another and the Home Ministry gives priority to them in enforcing the law,” he told reporters after attending a luncheon talk on public security by former Inspector-General of Police Tun Mohd Hanif Omar in the Institute of Public Security Malaysia (IPSOM) here yesterday.

Present were Deputy Home Minister Datuk Dr Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar and Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Khalid Abu Bakar.

On the arrest of Jawatankuasa Masyarakat Awam Syiah Imamiyyah (Ja’fari) chairman Mohd Kamilzuhairi Abdul Aziz, Zahid said Mohd Kamilzuhairi allegedly led an illegal organisation which preached the banned Syiah teachings among some 3,000 followers.

Mohd Kamilzuhairi was arrested in Taman Sri Gombak on Monday following a report by the Registrar of Societies that Ja’fari was not a registered organisation. — Bernama
