Top catch of 560gm – and RM600 – goes to Dayang Aury in Marine Police fishing contest

SARIKEI: A 560-gramme fish landed by Dayang Aury Awang Sapuan earned her the top prize of RM600 during a fishing competition organised by state Marine Police here on Wednesday.

Second to fourth prizes of RM300, RM200 and RM100 were won by Jahuri Jerman, Law Yeo Kiat and Awang Shukri Awang Boni respectively.

Fifth to seventh prizes of RM50 each went to Rajaee Rasdi, Latep Lamat and Nazarudin Liap while 13 others who landed smaller fish walked home with a hamper each.

The competition which was organised as a National Key Results Area (NKRA) project under the state Marine Police’s community policing programme, attracted about 50 local residents.

State Marine Police (Region 5) chief ACP Mohd Saleh Md Jani officially kicked off the competition at the Marine Police Base here and later presented the prizes.

Also given the honour to present the prizes were District Police chief Supt Poniman Margiman and District Narcotic Section head ASP Jefferson Wilfred Ahmin.
