MIRI: Two men were nabbed by police on early Friday morning, for their suspected involvement in several snatch theft cases reported in the city area.

The duo, in their 30’s, was picked up in Tudan acting on public tip-offs.

Miri police chief ACP Gan Tian Kee, when contacted yesterday, confirmed the arrests made.

“The case is being investigated under Section 379 of the Penal Code for theft,” he said.

The arrests were made 1.45am to 2.05am.

Gan added that after the arrest of the first suspect, he had led police to his accomplice.

Both suspects later led police to Kampung Haji Wahid where they had hidden their loot — a handbag containing keys and clothes.

Police also seized a motorcycle, believed to have been used as their getaway vehicle in committing snatching activities.
