SIBU: A housewife has pre-empted her Indonesian housemaid from doing something silly by lodging a referral police report.
The 48-year-old housewife has employed the maid to look after her elderly mother, but the latter decided to quit after working for four months.
The housewife refused to let her go as she had already paid for her service amounting to about RM10,000.
She approached the agent who got her the maid and asked for a replacement (of maid), but was told to wait as no new maid was available.
Meanwhile, the maid has allegedly resorted to silly acts in her bid to get out of the house.
The housewife said the maid would occasionally threaten to hurt herself with a knife or fork.
“She had once grabbed a bottle and threatened to break it and use a piece of the fragments to cut herself,” claimed the housewife.
