LIMBANG: A woman filed a police report alleging her underage daughter was raped after she failed to get the girl married.
According to the mother, her daughter was raped multiple times since March.
She had earlier tried to get the suspect to marry her daughter but the suspect’s family rejected the proposal.
Limbang District police chief Supt Mohd Bukhori Saffai said following the rejection, the mother filed a police report alleging several counts of rape.
He said police have identified the suspect and the case is being investigated under Section 376 of the Penal Code.
Meanwhile, Mohd Bukhori revealed that the victim had on Tuesday been convicted of drug abuse by a magistrate’s court here and sentenced to rehabilitation in Sabah.
Her records show two cases of abusing syabu.
