KUCHING: A worker was slashed on the hand by a drunken man who vented his fury on him after a misunderstanding at an illegal cyber gambling outlet called the ‘casino’ in Kenyalang Park on Saturday night.

According to sources, the 32-year-old victim was at the casino when the man entered the premises in a drunken state.

It was unclear what had spun off the misunderstanding, but the inebriated man was asked to leave the premises.

The man later waited the whole night long, apparently with an offensive weapon believed to be a parang, at the entrance of the premises which is located on the second floor of a shop lot.

When the victim went down around  9pm, the outsider attacked him and he  sustained a deep wound on the upper hand.

The victim’s friend who was alerted to the incident rushed the injured worker to the Sarawak General Hospital for treatment.

The assailant however, had fled from the scene and the victim’s friend was said to be hot on his trail.

It was unclear if a police report had been lodged pertaining to the matter.
