Build toilets at safe locations – Jainab

KOTA KINABALU: Community Development and Consumer Affairs Minister Datuk Jainab Ahmad Ayid has urged developers in the state to build properties with toilets at a safer location.

“Of course we want our toilets to be clean, but the most important thing now is that developers should consider putting toilets at a safer place, especially women’s toilets, to avoid any rape cases,” she said when launching Mother’s Day Walk Abreast at Likas Bay on Sunday.

“Most premises in the state, especially shopping malls and petrol stations, build their toilets at the back, where not many people can see. I think this should be changed for the safety of women,” she said.

Meanwhile, Jainab stressed that parents should not leave their kids alone when they go to the toilets to avoid any kidnappings.
