PUTRAJAYA: The political crisis in Terengganu following the reported announcement by former menteri besar Datuk Seri Ahmad Said that he had quit Umno, is almost resolved, according to Terengganu Umno Liaison secretary, Datuk Tengku Putera Tengku Awang.

He said from a phone conversation between Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak and Ahmad, what happened in the last two or three days was almost settled.

He said the prime minister had confirmed receiving a calm and the phone conversation with Ahmad, who expressed regret over what happened.

Tengku Putera was speaking to reporters after accompanying new Terengganu Menteri Besar Datuk Ahmad Razif Abdul Rahman for a meeting with the prime minister together with 13 Terengganu assemblymen at the Perdana Putra building, here, on the latest political developments in the East Coast state.

Tengku Putera said Ahmad was expected to “retract whatever had transpired in the last two or three days”.
