KUCHING: Maggi Big Kari and Maggi Big Ayam made its ‘official’ appearance in Sarawak yesterday in conjunction with the coming Gawai Dayak celebration.

Former deputy works minister Datuk Yong Khoon Seng, actor cum Maggi Big ambassador Aaron Aziz and Maggi Malaysia business executive manager Rosalyn Simba officiated at the launch at Boulevard shopping mall here.

Yong confessed that Maggi’s curry-flavoured instant noodle was his favourite snack.

“Due to time constraint, I used to have instant noodles in between official functions to keep my stomach full because I do not have much time to eat a proper meal,” he said.

“I am happy to see Maggie offering a bigger packet now, and I urged everybody to support the product.”

Yong noted that Maggi had been very creative with its instant noodles, especially in terms of recipes, nutritional values and flavours.

Rosalyn said Maggi’s instant noodle factory in Sejingkat would continue to serve the Sarawak and Sabah markets.

She told guests that Maggi’s instant noodles were made of real wheat and had high protein content and other nutritional values, and later introduced the Maggi Big Kari Terung Dayak and Maggi Big Ayam Pansuh recipes.

In conjunction with the launch, many activities are being held at Boulevard.

The three-day roadshow ends today.

Aaron Aziz, who had earlier paid a visit to Maggi’s factory in Sejingkat, was a hit among city folks yesterday. Many of his fans took the opportunity to interact with him and catch his autograph.

Also present at the launching were Boulevard Shopping Mall assistant manager Dennis Lee and Maggi Brand manager for East Malaysia (Food Business Unit) Nuraina Tajuddin.
