MIRI: Miri mayor Lawrence Lai flagged off 11 4WD of Trans Borneo 4×4 Leisure Touring expedition team which was headed for Brunei at Dynasty Hotel yesterday morning.
The team made their stop here on Monday from Niah for the Miri May Fest 2014.
The team started their journey from Kuching on May 14.
“Today after Miri, the team will head to Brunei, then Lawas, Kota Kinabalu, Sandakan and Tawau during their 12-day on-road journey which will end on May 25,” he said.
The tour was organised by Automobile Leisure Touring Team which was participated by some 50 members.
“The participants not only come from Sabah and Sarawak, but came also from West Malaysia as well as countries such as Taiwan, Brunei, Singapore and China,” he added.
The tour is also part of the Visit Malaysia Year 2014 programme aimed to promote cities around the country, especially Sabah and Sarawak.
