KUALA LUMPUR: The Central Youth Committee Movement of Liberal Democratic Party (LDP) recently paid a courtesy visit to the National Youths and Sports Minister, Khairy Jamaluddin, who is also BN Youth Chief at the latter’s office at Menara Kementerian Belia Dan Sukan in Putrajaya.

Led by its chief, Tsang Hieng Yee, the purpose of the visit was to introduce the new committee line-up to Khairy and also to cultivate better rapport and ties between LDP Central Youth and the BN Youth Chief so as to ensure a smoother and better collaboration between the two in the future.

During the meeting, both sides reaffirmed the BN concept and understanding of power sharing, moderation, inclusivity, mutual respect and acceptance among all component parties. Among others, both sides have pledged to deliver result and service-based politics to the society instead of the conventional rhetoric approach, which BN Youth deems as no longer apt to the present intellectual Malaysians.

LDP Central Youth has also pledged to give its full support to Khairy’s leadership leading BN Youth and to work hard and closely with youths of other BN component parties in order to provide services to Malaysians from all walks of life.

Khairy had expressed his empathy on the few issues now being faced by Sabah, particularly the issue of security and illegal immigrants and vowed that the Federal Government is definitely taking steps and actions to solve them. He requested for Sabahans to be patient, particularly in terms of the issue of illegal immigrants as it is a very heavy and sensitive issue which requires tremendous care, diligence, time and effort in order to resolve.

He also recognised and praised the uniqueness of Sabah whereby all Sabahans from different cultural, racial and religious backgrounds always lived in harmony with high tolerance, understanding, respect and acceptance among each other and encouraged us to continue to do so.

Both sides had agreed that all races in Malaysia must be united and share with each other, instead of practising racial segregation as the concept of “sharing” is the only formula for harmony, stability and unity within the multi-cultural Malaysian society.

Before concluding the visit, LDP Central Youth presented a copy of Agnes Newton Keith’s book “Land Below The Wind” to Khairy.
