Turkish man jailed for trespass, illegal entry

KUALA LUMPUR: A Turkish man was sentenced to a total of 11 months’ imprisonment by the magistrate’s court here yesterday for trespassing, and entering the country illegally.

Tanyildz, 28, was meted six months’ jail by Magistrate Erry Shahriman Nor Aripin for trespassing a housing construction site at Sri Jalil 1, Bukit Jalil here at 8.30 pm on April 18.

He was jailed five months for not possessing a valid travel document at the same place, time and date.

The court ordered the sentences to run concurrently, from the date of his arrest on April 18.

In the same court, an Indonesian security guard claimed trial to possession of a fake pump gun.

Azmi Abdul Halim, 32, allegedly committed the offence at a goldsmith’s shop in Cheras here at 11.10 am on April 8.

The magistrate set July 3 for mention and also sentenced Azmi to five months’ jail after he pleaded guilty to a charge of entering the country illegally.

Deputy public prosecutor Nor Diana Nor Azwa appeared for the prosecution. — Bernama
