KUCHING: The Sarawak Bumiputra Tennis Association (PTBS) is happy with the number of tournaments they organised so far this year.

According to PTBS Tournaments and Development Exco Nur Ashriel Abdullah, this showed how committed the association was to tennis development in the state.

“Two weeks ago, we organised the YB Sharifah Hasidah Women Tennis Tournament and it was a success. We are looking to organise more as we will never get tired of tennis,” he said when contacted by The Borneo Post yesterday.

Organised at the PTBS headquarters tennis courts in Petra Jaya, the tournament was named after Semariang assemblywoman Sharifah Hasidah Sayeed Aman Ghazali.

A total of 20 players competed in the tournament and Sharifah Hasidah officiate at its opening ceremony.

“During the tournament, Sharifah Hasidah encouraged the players to invite more of their women friends to be active in tennis and participate in tournaments. We hope to see more participants for next year’s edition of the YB Sharifah Hasidah Womens Tennis Tournament,” said Nur Ashriel.

The association will organise PTBS Inter-Community tournament this weekend.
