Woman killed when car hits road divider and giant vase

The victim’s car was wrecked in the accident.

MIRI: A woman died on-the-spot after her car rammed a road divider and a giant vase located in the middle of Pujut 3 roundabout at about 2am yesterday.

The victim identified as Viroul Kaur, 39, from Tudan here was said to have been travelling alone in a old model white Proton Saga when she lost control of the vehicle and rammed a giant vase.

The impact threw the victim backward towards the bonnet, breaking her legs.

An eyewitness who wished to be known only as Shaiful, in his 30s, said he was driving in the vicinity when he noticed the victim’s car spin a few times before ramming a road divider and the giant vase.

A policeman on patrol duty along Jalan Miri-Pujut area spotted the vehicle and stopped to inspect.

The body was taken to Miri Hospital for a post-mortem.

Miri police chief, ACP Gan Tian Kee when contacted confirmed receiving a report on the case.

Police are investigating.
