SIBU: Police arrested a man for threatening to his relative and sister over a cable theft issue.
The suspect was said to have threatened the relative and his sister with a saw at their house at 9.30pm on Friday at Taman Indah.
His elder brother who turned up later, had apparently beaten up the relative. The relative’s sister, 35, duly lodged a police report.
Acting on the report, police later caught the man who had allegedly threatened the brother and sister pair.
Meanwhile, a 27-year-old man was caught in town within 12 hours of a suspected theft at a budget hotel.
A worker of the hotel at Cross Road was sleeping at the counter where the theft occurred.
The 26-year-old complainant had woken up at 7.30am on Saturday only to find his sling bag containing two hand phones, identity card and ATM card stolen.
Acting on the report made by the complainant, police nabbed the suspect in town at 8pm later on the same day.
