SIBU: Kuching’s PJHMB survived a scare before beating Sibu D’ysco 5-4 by penalty kicks to lift the title in the Sibu Open Women’s Futsal Championship which ended at TN Sports Hall at Sibu Trade and Exhibition Centre here recently.
The match virtually went down the wire and ended 2-2 in regular time.
Both sides were still not separated after netting three of the first five penalties.
The Kuching players eventually converted the last two penalties while Sibu fumbled their last.
PJHMB took home the RM1,000 prize money while D’ysco collected RM700. They were followed by Chaillex and Cervantas which received RM300 each.
Genevieve Muga from D’ysco was adjudged the tournament’s best player.
The other three teams in the championship were Jim FC, Sibu Medical and Maksak.
