KUCHING: PDRM A and PSKPP emerged the men’s and women’s champions of the Maksak Sarawak Inter-Agency Badminton Championship at the Sarawak Bumiputera Badminton Association Hall at Semariang, Petra Jaya on Wednesday night.
In the men’s team competition, PDRM A edged PSKPP A 3-2 to collect RM1,000 and a trophy while PSKPP A received RM800 and a trophy.
In joint third were SEDC/JKM and PRDM B who received RM500 each.
PSKPP won the women’s title after they edged PDRM 2-1 in the final.
They walked away with RM600 and a trophy while the runners-up received RM500 and a trophy.
Medical and KUPORT were joint third and they each received RM400. The competition jointly organised by Pusaka and Maksak Sarawak from June 14-18 saw the participation of 13 government departments and agencies. There were 16 teams in the men’s competition and six in the women’s competition.
Pusaka acting assistant general manager (Business Control) Hamzah Morshidi and Laws and Secretarial manager Rosleenda Sayumi, who is also Pusaka Recreational Club deputy president, gave away the prizes.
