SIBU: Rapport between teachers and parents is imperative to ensure that students excel academically, said SMK Luar Bandar No 1 Sibu principal, Wong Teck Ling.
He said his school needed cooperation between the school and parents to bolster students’ progression in their learning.
“Parents have the important role of providing relevant spaces at home for their children to study.
“Parents also have to be supportive in encouraging and motivating their children to study hard,” he said in his address at the school’s ‘Report Card Day’ recently.
He also told parents to ensure that their children prepare themselves physically and mentally for school every day.
About 400 parents attended the function which aimed to provide exposure to parents and guardians regarding their children’s learning and performance in school examinations.
An aerobics exercise involving 20 senior citizens from Selangau area was among activities for the function.
