KUALA LUMPUR: Indonesian workers in Malaysia have been reminded to engage the services of agencies or institutions that are recognised by the government when planning to return home.

Deputy Indonesian Ambassador to Malaysia, Hermono said apart from being legitimate, such services are safe because these agencies are recognised by both countries (Malaysia-Indonesia).

Citing the services provided by the International Marketing and Net (IMAN) Resources Sdn Bhd during the 6P Amnesty Programme, as an example, Hermono said IMAN which provided various services was capable of providing professional services to ensure Indonesians returned home safely.

He said such services also prevents any shortcuts that can endanger the safety of individuals.

The embassy had expressed concern over recent boat tragedies involving Indonesians who had tried to return home illegally.

Hermono requested Indonesian migrant workers without valid documents to avoid taking illegal routes to go home as it was dangerous.

“With IMAN Resources appointed to provide professional services for a reasonable fee when handling Indonesian workers who wished to return home, it should be the obvious choice,” he said after opening IMAN Resources as the service provider for Indonesian workers who wished to return home.

IMAN Resources is an institution appointed by the Home Ministry on Aug 31, last year as a one stop centre to handle Indonesian workers who wished to return home.

Meanwhile, IMAN Resources executive chairman Datuk Azri Mohammad Zain said for a start, the company was targetting 10 to 25 per cent of the 1.2 million Indonesian workers or illegal immigrants who wished to return home to celebrate Hari Raya Aidilfitri next month.

He said IMAN Resources charged a low fee of RM1,250 for their services, excluding air fare or fare for ferry services.

Apart from efficient and quick service (less than five days), those using services provided by IMAN Resources are covered for up to RM50,000 (Insurance). — Bernama
