Police chief: 86 victims detected in Labuan since 2009

LABUAN: A total of 86 human trafficking victims were recorded in the Federal Territory of Labuan between 2009 and up till June this year, said Labuan police chief Superintendent Adzhar Othman.

He told Bernama here yesterday, the victims – Filipinas – were detected based on 10 human trafficking cases during the period.

Adzhar was commenting on local media reports on a Labuan police raid which freed five Filipinas who had been forced into sex slaves at an entertainment centre here.

The women, aged between 18 and 20, were forced to work as prostitutes over the past month. — Bernama
