Corbusier’s Laurel wins Samarahan circuit race

KUCHING: Team Corbusier’s Laurel Lauridsen Adrian won the second round of the Samarahan Circuit Race Series on Sunday.

He topped a 45-strong field to take the Open category.

Team Corbusier dominated the event by taking the top four placings.

In the 90km race, Laurel posted 2hrs 15min 11secs to win by 25secs from teammate Afiq Harun.

Yudhi Rachmad pipped Fito Prilanji to take third spot with both Corbusier riders given the same time of 2hrs 17min 44secs.

Team Viking’s Azmi Hamsa was fifth in a time of 2hrs 20mins 39secs.

In the 48km junior event, Team Sonamu’s Wan Haikal W. Zainal bested a 30-strong field to win.

The race ended with a sprint finish with Haikal awarded the victory and all top five finishers given the same time of 1hr 11min 10secs.

Corbusier’s Yudhi had to settle for the second place with Viking’s Rudi Hartono third.

Corbusier’s Noel Lim and teammate Ahmad AzfarZukari were fourth and fifth receptively.

In the 90km veterans race, Saxon Racing’s Patrick Siqueen won with Viking’s Jee Kak Kiong second and Saxon’s Seigi Borhan third.

The event was organised by Unimas’ Kelab Cergas PALAPES with Team Sonamu as the main sponsor.

Kalimantan’s Team Kalimanto Racing also participated.
