Scrolls, awards for 306 at RIT’s 16th graduation

MIRI: A total of 306 graduates received their scrolls at the Riam Institute of Technology (RIT)’s 16th Graduation 2014 at Eastwood Valley Golf and Country Club (EVGCC) on Saturday.

They have completed their courses in Cambridge GCE A-Level, Accountancy, Commerce, Automotive Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, and Culinary Arts.

During the graduation, the institute also presented various awards to the best students.

In the best academic awards, the award for Cambridge GCE A- Level Science was granted to Aastik Malhotra, Then Hua Wui and Lily Ngieng Kai Li (Certified Accounting Technician), Kiu Kwong Siang, Chong Kian Lun and Chan Wen San (Diploma Commerce), Teh Khai Yuen and Hwong Siaw Chin (Diploma in Automative Engineering), Moi Shaw Hui and Jimmy Kho Kai Seng (Diploma in Mechanical Engineering) and two students Tie Sing Kong and Johnson

For the outstanding students of Malaysia Skills Diploma (DKM) in Culinary Arts, the Best Theory Award went to Arnold Darrell anak Denny while Jong Khen Kee received the Best Practical Award.

Outstanding awards of DKM in Automotive Executive went to three students who received Best Theory Awards: Jeremiah Tan Yi Sheng, Phang King Siang and Valentine Chin Sei Ket.

The recipients for the Best Practical Awards in a similar course were Wong Teck Chai, Wong Vui Shiang and Ling Teck Fong.

Five students who received Gold Awards in Taiwan International Cooking Competition were: Chef Leu Kien Chung, Wong Ing Chai, Jong Khen Kee, Wong Ngei Yuong and Chai Soung Yong.

Recipients for the Cambridge Book Awards were Amanda Liaw Li Qi and Lee Jia Hong.

Terence Then received Cambridge Brilliant Award for student category.

In the City & Guilds Book Awards, the recipients were Darren Bong Chun Khong, Chai Wan Yan, Lim Yew Yung, Fong Wei Zhong, Joshua Lee Man Deng, Heng Der Zhan, Dione Tan Yiing and Ting Su Hao.

Three recipients of the City & Guilds Medals for Excellence 2014 were Dr Hii Nai Ching (Lecturer category), Moi Shaw Hui (Principal Award) and Aastik Malhotra for the Chief Executive Officer (CEO)’s Award.

Also present were the joint chairmen of the institute Tan Sri Datuk Jimmy Lau and Dato’ Sri Law Kiu Kiong and the institute CEO Dato Dr Fong Onn Min.
