KUCHING: A restaurant employee who failed to show up for work was found dead in his quarters at Song Plaza by fellow workers yesterday.
The deceased was identified as Joston Lalang, 30, from Kampung Mentu Tapu in Tabakang.

Other employees noticed around 1pm that he had yet to show up for work so they went to their quarters, located above their workplace, to check.
Upon entering his bedroom, they were shocked to find Joston had died and quickly notified their employer who, in turn, called an ambulance.
Medical personnel from Sarawak General Hospital arrived at the scene to inspect the body and certify the death, before police personnel transported the deceased to hospital for a post-mortem.
It was learned that Joston started working at the restaurant two weeks ago. Police have classified the incident as sudden death pending the result of the post-mortem.
