KUCHING: Parti Rakyat Sarawak (PRS) Youth has lodged a police report against a Facebook account ‘Legasi kongsi gelap melayu 4’ which has made numerous offensive remarks against Dayaks.

Bit with his police report at the entrance of Sungai Maong Police Station.

The postings often made in Bahasa Malaysia, among others, had called on all Muslims to wage a holy war against those the writer described as ‘infidels’, particularly the Dayak community.

PRS Youth publicity chief Bit Surang said the account administrator, in his latest offensive remark, wrote that he received a notice from Al-Qaeda’s Kuwait branch office summoning all Muslims in this country to join Islamic NGOs such as Perkasa, Pekida, KGM 30 and Isma.

According to the posting, this was to unite all Muslims here to form an Islamic country and destroy other races especially the Dayaks with the promise of the Heavens for jihadists.

In light of this, Bit in a statement said: “We view this seriously as it could create feelings of hatred towards us Dayaks. It is not good for race relations among Malaysians. Dayaks are peace loving people and we do not want this sort of people to insult us.

“As such, we want appropriate action to be taken and the relevant authority to investigate this Facebook account. The owner of this account must be dealt with adequately in order not to worsen the situation.”

Although it is unclear how long the said account has existed, it is understood that similar accounts namely ‘Legasi kongsi gelap melayu 2’ and ‘Legasi kongsi gelap melayu 3’ had been used to spread hatred against Sarawakians and the Dayak community in particular.

Postings from the controversial Facebook accounts had courted numerous responses from disapproving netizens while some called for the writer to stop the nonsense.

All the said accounts could have probably been suspended or terminated as a quick search by The Borneo Post yesterday yielded empty result.
