AirAsia A320 Flight AK278 Now Moved from Grassy Knoll of Runway

BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN: Efforts to move the aircraft Air Asia A320 from the grass area of Runway 03 Brunei International Airport have successfully been completed at 6.20pm yesterday, ©BRUDIRECT.COM reported.

The aircraft skidded off the runway at 3.33pm last Monday afternoon on July 7 2014. The Brunei International Airport was immediately closed following the incident, and had resumed operations Tuesday, July 8 at 11pm.

The Department of Civil Aviation (DCA), Ministry of Communications (MinComm) has expressed gratitude to Royal Brunei Police Force (RBPF), Fire and Rescue Department, His Majesty’s the Sultan’s Flight, Internal Security Department (KDN), Royal Customs and Excise Department, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade (MoFaT), Royal Brunei Airlines (RB), Public Works Department (JKR / PWD), Ministry of Health (MoH) and Department of Immigration and National Registration for mitigating and resolving the situation as expeditiously as possible.

The Department of Civil Aviation, MinComm deeply regretted the inconvenience faced by the public and users of the Brunei International Airport during the course of the incident. It appreciated the patience, cooperation and kind understanding.
