BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN: His Royal Highness Prince Mohamed Bolkiah, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade yesterday consented to receive in audience the Secretary of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of the Philippines, His Excellency Albert F del Rosario at the Balai Penghadapan, Bukit Kayangan, ©BRUDIRECT.COM reported.
During the meeting, His Royal Highness and His Excellency discussed current bilateral relations and regional affairs. Del Rosario was in the country on a one-day visit. Philippines’ Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) said the two discussed ways to further promote cooperation in areas such as labour, health, info-communication technology and multimedia, defence and law enforcement.
Secretary Del Rosario thanked the Sultanate for its continued support in the peace process and its role in the International Monitoring Team that oversees the ceasefire between armed fighter groups and Philippine government forces in Mindanao.
The 3rd Philippines-Brunei Joint Commission for Bilateral Consultations, which serves as the road map for bilateral cooperation, is set to be held in Manila in 2015.
