Woman and two men detained for drug trafficking

TEMERLOH: Two men and a woman were detained for
alleged drug trafficking in a police operation, codenamed “Ops Tapis”, in an oil
palm plantation near Kampung Sungai Semut, Lanchang, yesterday.

Temerloh police chief ACP Anuar Othman said the suspects were all locals
aged between 23 and 32.

He said during the raid, the police seized a sling bag containing 79
packets containing white powder and green-coloured nuggets, believed to be
heroin, weighing 501.8 grammes.

“The police also found five small transparent plastic packets containing
crystal-like powder, believed to be syabu, weighing 3.45 grammes,” he told
reporters here today.

He said police believed the plantation was used as a ‘port’ by drug
traffickers in Lanchang, Mentakab and Temerloh.-Bernama
