BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN: Twenty-five people have been arrested for various offences, including misuse of drugs and gambling activities in a raid on a house in Kampung Subok, Brudirect reported.
Out of the 25 detained, ten accused were aged from 30 to 43 years old, and have been taken to the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) for misuse of drugs offence. Initial investigation found that the house was used as a centre for misuse of drugs and other illegal activities. Other offenders have also been referred to the Royal Brunei Police Force (RBPF) and the Royal Brunei Customs and Excise Department for further action.
It is an offence under the Misuse of Drugs Act, anyone who allows his own premises to be used for misuse of drugs activities; and if convicted, can be sentenced to a maximum ten year imprisonment, fined 40 thousand dollars, or both.
