KUCHING: The Crocs are leaving for their training stint to Jakarta, Indonesia without import players Muamer Salibasic and Hassan El Mohamed as the duo are still out nursing their injuries.

The team will be there for a week from July 17 – 23 in preparation for the coming Malaysia Cup tournament.

This has upset somewhat coach Robert Alberts’ plan to field a full-strength squad for the Malaysia Cup.

“Salibasic and Mohamed need at least one month from now to recover. With both of them not being able to travel with the team for our training camp in Jakarta, there is a need to reshuffle things around a bit,” he told The Borneo Post yesterday.

During this year’s Super League campaign, Sarawak never enjoyed the opportunity to use the best eleven as one or more key players were in the crock list.

However, there is still some cause for optimism that the current break between the Super League and the Malaysia Cup competitions will enable the two import players to recover their full fitness.

But fans can at least breathe a sigh of relief as recently injured defender Gabor Gyepes is scheduled to return to full training soon.

“We are now waiting for a doctor’s report pending approval on him. He should be able to join us for the training camp in Jakarta,” said Alberts.

Meanwhile, Reeshafiq Alwi is the only local player who will not be able to make the trip as he is recovering from an operation.

This year’s Malaysia Cup competition will kick off on August 13.
