KUCHING: The Islamic Information Centre (IIC) will be having its final series of breaking of fast with faith-based organisations, community associations and Islamic organisations at the IIC on July 25.
The centre has been holding such events since 2009 in its effort to foster goodwill, strengthen relations and enhance understanding among the multi-ethnic and multi-religious populace of Sarawak especially in this blessed month of Ramadhan.
This year the centre started its series of breaking of fast in Sibu before proceeding to Miri, Bintulu and Mukah, and ends in Kuching.
As was in previous years, the breaking of fast here will start with a sharing session on ‘Miracles of Al-Quran’.
The centre believes that through such informal yet informative sharing, a better understanding and enhanced appreciation of not only the blessed month of Ramadan but also other observances in each other’s religions and faiths could develop and be nurtured.
In addition to the breaking of fast, the centre also holds forums, talks and exhibitions.
All programme and activities of the centre are held as part of the centre’s effort in promoting and communicating the universality of Islam so as to create a better understanding and enhance appreciation of Islam among the people.
