LUNDU: Sarawak Dayak National Union (SDNU) Samarahan branch held a two-day retreat at a Siar sea resort near here recently.

The interesting and fun ‘sarong’ football match.

According to its branch chairman Stanley Belayong Pok on Saturday, the retreat was aimed at fostering closer ties amongst members and strengthening the teamwork and sporting spirit of the executive committee members.

The organising committee lined up ice-breaking programmes that provided much fun.

On Saturday evening, the participants held a game of beach soccer where players had to wear ‘sarong’ for the match and this no doubt drew much laughter and fun. At night, the participants were treated to a barbeque dinner and karaoke singing session complete with dances.

To add to the merriment, the youth members of the branch started a camp fire on the beach and played games around it.

On Sunday morning, the participants took part in a mass aerobic exercise before proceeding to breakfast.

Both adults and children also swam in the sea.

According to Emas yesterday, they will be holding a SIDS Samarahan branch first year anniversary celebration cum fundraising dinner at Wei Thian Restaurant in Siburan on Aug 1.

Among the programmes that night will be speeches, live band performance, traditional music presentation, lucky draws, sponsored songs and golden voice sessions, she added.
