Cat lives to tell tale of sharpshooter with air-gun

SIBU: A man brought his pet cat to lodge a police report after he found a gunshot wound on its body.

The 48-year-old from a longhouse in Durin told police his son discovered their cat lying with an injury at the back of their house at 7.30am. They found a marble stuck in the cat’s body. He took the injured pet to Sibu Jaya police station to lodge a police report after suspecting a teenage neighbour had used an air gun to shoot the cat.

He believed the weapon belonged to the teenager’s father who was using it for hunting.

Police are looking for the suspected shooter to assist in their investigation.

In a separate case, three civil servants were among 14 persons arrested in a cyber gambling den at Pahlawan Road here on Wednesday night. A police team led by two officers raided the premises on the first floor at 10.30pm. They also seized 27 computers and RM800 cash.
